		<description>Dear Nathan, you say, "Raising the roof or even significantly changing the roofline is usually out of the question."  Why is that?  I, too, have a ranch which lacks character as well as storage space.  I've been wondering if we can raise the roof to create a loft or bedrooms and/or adding dormers for more aesthetic appeal.  What are your thoughts on all this?  Many thanks!</description>
